e- Books (OverDrive)

Being able to download the software required to use the audio book from the library's website is a helpful feature.

Locating Podcasts

http://www.podcast.net/show/12031

I was amazed at the content that is available to view through this media source.

Discover You Tube

I have been a fan of auto racing for as long as I can remember. I love the sport.
The jet fuel cars are one of my favorites. I have much admiration for female
drivers. Some have trained from many years and leaving their mark in the
male dominated sport.

On-Line Productivity Tools and Web 2.0 Awards List

I explored Zoho Writer and Craigs List at http://fortlauderdale.craigslist.org/zip/

I created two test documents. I particularly liked the readily accessible tool bars.

I viewed Craigs List which I had heard about from the Web 2.0 Award list.
I like how the site is designed.

PBWiki Sandbox & bcltlc wiki Exercise

This activity reminded of playing in the sandbox as a child
at the playground. Even though I was very shy. It was my
favorite activity because you could play alone a no one really
paid most attention and you could observe the other children
at play. This made it easier to choose playmates with similiar
interests. Adding my blog to the favorites list was
just that simple and you readily view the interests of the other
participants.

Wiki's

Wiki's if used appropriately are in my opinion a valuable
resource. The data is generally presented in an easy to
interpret format. The ones developed for specific events
(Past ALA Conferences) are very informative. Reading about
the direction of library services in future was interesting.

Wikipedia, has been a life saver for myself with my college and
for the high school age son.

I added the searchroll; Bed and Breakfast

I am really getting the hang of it now. I really wished that I
had lots of free during this program to devote to these activities.
However, I appreciate the exposure to all the various technology
resources.

LibraryThing

http://www.librarything.com/catalog/drichardson0718

This site is most user friendly I have ever encountered.
The various methods to access your information is a plus.

I can use this site to catalog a few special collection of books
I'm developing (children's books, inspirational, etc.).

I will definitely share this site with other book lovers.

Image Generator (Countdown Generator)

Looking for payday loan?

This image generator was quick and easy.

The URL is: http://www.justsayhi.com/bb/countdown

Web 2.0 , Library 2.0

I feel that the library user should be recognized as the most viable resource
in developing collections and methods of delivery for library services to
the community.

90 Minute Sleep Cycles

I have a brother that lives in Colorado. In a recent conversation, we discussed
that I have been having difficulty sleeping. He suggested that I try a technique he
has been using for several years. Sleeping for ninety minutes increments
(i.e. 1.5 hours, 3 hours, 4.5 hours, 6 hours, etc.) He explained to me that a normal
sleep cycle averages ninety minutes (65 minutes of normal, or non-REM;rapid eye movement, sleep; 20 minutes of REM sleep (in which we dream); and a final 5 minutes of non-REM sleep.
If we are not disturbed we move from one sleep cycle to the next. A person that only sleeps
six hours will feel more rested than a person that has slept eight to ten hours who has not
completed a full sleep cycle. I been trying this new sleep pattern for several weeks
and I have noticed a difference in my level of alertness and I feel remarkably well rested.

Del.icio.us - A Tasty Morsel

This is a very useful tool. My family and friends often assume that I will know
how/where to locate some particular information they need.

Also, I often randomly surf the web using any search term that comes to my
mind and the results are always very interesting. I could use bookmarks
to mark these for future reference.

Exploring You Tube

My daughter is a producer/director. I was surprised by all of the hits I found for her name on You Tube. This is a PSA she developed . This form of technology has made is possible for her and many
others to have global exposure of their work.

My Trading Card

Creating a trading card was a snap.

More Flickr Fun

Flickr Color Pickr and Montager are way cool. I really liked the concept of Montager. I think
I might try to create a montage for my mom for Mother's Day from myself and my siblings.
At the very least just getting together with my siblings reminiscing while sifting through old
photos will be fun.

DIVA at the Auto Show 2007

The Flickr site is awesome. It will be very useful for me in the coming years. My first two
grandchildren will be born this year. Having access to site such as Flickr will serve to bridge
the generation gap. I will be able to show them actually what I might be trying the tell them.
For instance I lived in Pennsylvania as a young girl and I would be able to show actual historical
sites that I visited. I love fast cars and auto shows and auto racing competitions.
This is my favorite recent picture. It was exciting being able to upload a picture from my email
account .

http://www.bloglines.com/public/DaphaneR

This has been the most difficult exercise thus far.
I trust that I will be less frustrated from here forward.
I've had to find my way out of my black hole. I will
begin exploring the cyber world more frequently in
the future. It is embarrassing to be so clueless.

My First Blog

This has been a very hectic week. I've looked forward to sinking my teeth into TLC 2.0,
which I think is going to be a great experience for me. I am particularly excited about
sharing my blog with my friends and family. They are all light years ahead of me in
the cyber world.
